Suzanne M. Anderson, DPST, MSS, RSW-0145, CCR

Suzanne has provided individual, couple and family psychotherapy for expatriates in Singapore and internationally (via remote connection) through community mental health-based practices in Singapore since 2007 (through SACAC Counselling, International Counselling & Psychology Centre) and now in private practice with Restorative Community Counselling, a service of Restorative Community Concepts Pte Ltd.

Dr. Anderson works with adults, adolescents, and families with issues related to anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, adjusting to change and transition. Suzanne works from a strengths and resilience perspective, in a balanced partnership with clients, taking a pragmatic, humanistic and cognitive behavioural therapy approach. Suzanne has a special interest in working with adolescents and youth and their parents on issues related to behaviour, communication and parenting concerns. 
 
Dr. Suzanne Anderson is a crisis response specialist and trainer with over 20 years experience providing crisis response training and services in the aftermath of natural, industrial and manmade crisis and disasters, including earthquakes, a hurricane, typhoon and tidal surge, tsunami, an industrial plant explosion, war, plane crashes, and terrorist attacks in the US, Canada, Yugoslavia and Southeast Asia. She has provided crisis response, cross-cultural, and social work in Singapore and the region including China, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Vietnam, Burma/Myanmar, and Nepal over the past 15 years. A number of these trainings and responses were undertaken with the National Organization for Victim Assistance and Partners International.
 
Suzanne holds a Doctor of Professional Studies from the University of Southern Queensland and a Masters of Social Science (Social Work) from the National University of Singapore. Suzanne's doctoral research was focused on Meeting the Mental Health & Psychosocial Needs of Sexually Exploited Women in the Greater Mekong Sub-region: A Mixed Methods Study Enhancing the Training Development of Human Trafficking Aftercare Workers. Suzanne is a Certified Crisis Responder and Trainer with the National Organization for Victim Assistance (US) and Registered Social Worker (SG).

She an American residing in Singapore since 1999 and is an English speaker.
